Paranoia watch, II.
As I was saying, below, privacy paranoia abounds on the Net. And, of course, everywhere else. I'm reading a new book called Chatter; Dispatches from the Secret World of Global Eavesdropping, by Patrick Radden Keefe. It's thorough, brilliantly written, highly readable--rips right along. It's also sensible. My halfway-through takeaway--the bad news: the intelligence agencies can intecept all messages. The good news: there's too much to listen to and they're clunky, understaffed bureaucracies. Still, this is a good handbook for life in cyberspace. Live your life and keep your firewall up to date.
