Comic relief on the other Gulf.
Many of us are giving a lot of money to the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and other effective relief organizations. Why is our government giving billions of dollars to Kellogg Brown and Root (Halliburton) and other well-connected but overpriced for-profit companies to provide temporary trailer housing for Katrina evacuees? Wouldn't the Red Cross be a better choice for this assignment, with no markup?
