Annals of Hype: Defining Moment.

I had such a moment this morning, walking my dog. One of the things I love about where I live, Washington State--U.S. map, upper left corner--the entrance to a street with no outlet is marked with a sign saying, "Dead End." I grew up in California, where the sign at such an intersection reads, "Not a Thru Street." Euphemism is a form of hype. Never change, Washington.
