The truce.

The so-called "mainstream media" seems strangely stunned by the Senate's successful compromise on the filibuster and judicial appointments. Maybe they just can't move that fast, but I don't see a lot of boy-oh-boy-they-actually-did-it reporting. Maybe they just don't know how to report good news. Or afraid to call it good news. Of course, the blog world is no doubt fuming, if Arianna Huffington's take is any sign:

What to make of an agreement that preserves the filibuster while guaranteeing that it can only be used “under extraordinary circumstances”? Isn’t that like being told by the police that you can keep your car -- on the condition that you only drive it to get away from an erupting volcano?
Yeah yeah, blah blah, blog blog. Well, I think it's good news. Boy oh boy, they actually did it!
