Hype hurricane.

Brian Williams wrote on the NBC Nightly News blog the other day about the lights in the New Orleans warehouse district: they came on right before the President's Jackson Square speech, and went dark right after he left. Maybe there's no connection. Maybe there is. It's good to wonder. It's good that news people are wondering, and reporting on stuff like this. Probably why the media's approval ratings are rising. Enough of this kind of reporting and maybe we can clean up the damage the hype hurricane wreaks. It's unlikely to blow itself out anytime soon. Pretty soon the next election campaign hurricane season will arrive.

I think this lights on-lights off thing has something to do with his father's "1000 points of light" stance on poverty and welfare.
