The Bush Revolution.
Demoralize the military, especially the reserves. Act as if the political opposition doesn't represent over half the voting population. Politicize and undermine the bureaucracy with strategic appointments. Cut taxes on the business class. Intimidate the working press--count on the corporations to maintain the broadcast media's first priority--entertainment. Refuse to respond to legitimate criticism. Slander opponents. Threaten leakers with prosecution. Assume ultimate legal authority. Operate in secret. Appoint ideological loyalists to the courts. Demonstrate the government's incompetence. Promote business globalization, above security concerns.
"My goal is to cut government in half in twenty-five years, to get it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub."-- Grover Norquist, Republican strategist, far-right ideologue
